State of Sponge XI

It's happening again, that festival of squishiness we like to call

The State Of Sponge XI

Our next date with destiny is on June 25th, at 21:00 UTC Click for local time

Our development team will walk us through the latest developments in the API and implementations, and talk about the game-plan for coping with versions for Minecraft 1.8.9, 1.9.4 and 1.10.
Sponge implementations for 1.8.9 are now quite durable, and will be receiving long-term support.
Showing off more recent developments, the Sponge Community Server will be running:

  • modded SpongeForge for 1.9.4 (a surprise pack assembled by the Resonant Rise crew, details TBA)
  • and, in parallel, the very latest bleeding build of SpongeVanilla 1.10, with plugins.

Much more will be discussed there than we could ever include here
You can join us at:

If you have any questions you'd like asked at SoS, you're welcome to reply and add them to this thread.

We hope to see you there!

Are any of my plugins going to be there

How could we know about SpongeForge advancement, and which mods/plugins compatible with it.

And another question, does 1.9 and 1.9.4 version are very different (about mods etc...)

Do 1.8.9 plugins work on SpongeForge 1.9?

No, they do not.... The two versions use different major versions of the SpongeAPI, and with each major version comes breaking changes and/or major additions.

Some plugins may work, but some events have been changed, and some API's may have minor changes that require some modification from a plugin's standpoint.

Sadly, I won't be able to make it, as I have some more important stuff on my schedule. :frowning: Hopefully I'll make it next time.

We ought to have one of these for people like me who just can't even time zone.

Yeah, but I think yours may be an hour off.

welp... the time zone converter lied to me. Someone who can time zone should do this :frowning:

So is this on youtube quite yet? I was unable to attend, sadly.

You can watch it for now on Twitch here -
I'm sure it will be put on youtube some time soon.

Not yet, but here's the Twitch link:

EDIT: Ninja'd

Did I miss it? Time zone converters have failed me.

It was earlier today... (some time in the afternoon for EST)

you know what'd be amazing
a text transcript of the entire thing

Yea... no

I would rather have the team work on sponge

Is there a YouTube recording of this? I see it in Twitch, but if it's on YouTube, I can watch at 1.5x or 2x speed and put it up on my Chromecast. Just wondering...

Any word on a SoS XI video upload? Sorry to necro a bit.
